What needs you, on your phone

The mobile triage screen that gathers approvals waiting on you, publishing that failed, and connections that will stop a post, and how it tells you when it could not check something.

Updated

The mobile overview gathers three things that need a person: reviews waiting on your decision, publishing that has failed or is blocked, and connected accounts that will stop a post going out. Each row opens the screen that owns the action.

It performs three separate checks and is honest when one of them does not answer. A section that could not be checked says so, and the summary at the top says how many of the three answered, so a quiet section is never read as nothing to do.

This is not the weekly Social Operator on the web. It proposes nothing, plans no week and holds no run. It is a triage list.

BEFORE YOU START

  • The Social Studio mobile app, signed in, with an organisation selected.
  • Permission to read each of the three areas. Where your role does not carry one, that section says it could not be checked rather than showing an empty list.

STEPS

  1. Open the overview for the organisation, or follow a link to /orgs/{id}/operator.
  2. Read the summary at the top. It says either that nothing needs you, or how many things do.
  3. If the summary says the picture is not complete, read which of the three checks did not answer before treating a quiet section as clear.
  4. Open "Waiting for your decision" and tap an item to review it.
  5. Open "Publishing that needs attention" and tap an item to retry it or read why it failed.
  6. Open "Connections that will stop a post" and tap an account to see what it needs. Reconnecting itself happens on the web, because it goes through the network's own sign-in page.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

Either "Nothing needs you right now." or a count and three sections. Items new to this device since you last looked carry a marker so a long list does not hide what changed.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not decide, retry or reconnect from the summary itself. Every row opens the screen where the action lives.
  • It will not treat a refusal as an empty list. Where you do not have access, the section says so, and no retry is offered because retrying would not help.
  • It will not plan a week or produce proposals. That is the web Social Operator, and it has no mobile screen.
  • It will not bulk approve. Approving a whole campaign at once is web work.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "This is not a complete picture." followed by how many of the three checks answered means one or more failed. The sections themselves say which.
  • "You do not have access to this, so it could not be checked." means your role does not reach that area.
  • "Nothing is waiting for your review.", "Nothing has failed or is blocked." and "Every connected account is healthy." are the three clear states, and each is a real answer rather than a fallback.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Why can I not reconnect an account here?

Because reconnecting sends you to the network's own sign-in page, which the app does not carry. The web app does.

Why does a section sometimes have no retry button?

Because the failure was a refusal rather than a fault. Retrying a refusal produces the same refusal.

  • Planning the week with the Social Operator

How the Social Operator gathers evidence from your own recorded activity, proposes at most six things to do this week, and why it never acts on its own.

  • Working through the publishing queue

Reading the real state of every scheduled, in-flight, published and failed post, what retrying does, and which networks can actually receive a post today.

  • Reviewing and deciding on content

Working the approvals queue, what "edited since submitted" means for your decision, and the separation-of-duties rule that stops an author approving their own work.
