Choosing a plan

What each plan includes, which of those entitlements are actually enforced today, where you can and cannot start a checkout, and what "bring your own AI" currently amounts to.

Six plans. Preview is free and includes one seat, one brand, one workspace, no social accounts and a hundred trial credits. Starter, Growth, Scale and Agency add seats, brands, workspaces, connected accounts and a monthly credit allowance, and Scale and Agency add locations. Enterprise is contracted and publishes no self-serve price.

Two things matter more than the feature list. First, which entitlements are actually enforced: live publishing, the connected-account cap, the seat cap, single sign-on and WhatsApp. Approvals and automations appear in the catalogue and nothing reads them, so a smaller plan can still submit and approve. Generation is not plan-gated at all: what stops it is your role, whether a provider is configured, and whether the credit balance covers the estimate.

Second, where you can pay. Credit top-ups can be bought from the web app. Subscribing to a plan can be done from the mobile app or through the API, and the web app has no control that starts it. Both depend on the deployment having payment configured, and where it is not, the pages say so plainly rather than offering a button that fails.

BEFORE YOU START

  • The "bill" or "administer" permission to start a checkout. Owner, Billing Admin, Organisation Admin and Developer carry one of them.
  • The "administer" permission to start a trial, since a trial is a commitment.
  • Nothing to see the catalogue. Any member can read what a plan or a pack costs.

STEPS

  1. Open Usage, or go to /app/usage for your organisation.
  2. Read your current plan, your trial state if you have one, and your entitlements. Each is shown as included or not included, in words.
  3. Start the fourteen-day trial if you have not: no card, a hundred media credits.
  4. Compare plans on the pricing page.
  5. To change plan, use the mobile app or the billing endpoint. The web app links to pricing and does not start a plan checkout.
  6. To top up, buy a credit pack from Usage. Bought credits do not expire.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

Your plan, your credits, and an entitlement table using the words "included" and "not included" rather than ticks, because a missing tick would read as not measured.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not grant anything from the checkout return page. That page only reads. Access comes from the verified payment notification, and "pending" there is a normal state rather than an error.
  • It will not move all of your generation onto your own AI provider. There is a screen that stores your own keys, "Your own API keys" at /app/provider-keys, and it takes image, video and voice-generation keys, encrypted at rest. One capability sends them: video generation on OpenAI Sora, where a workspace key of yours is used for your own renders and no Social Studio credits are charged for them, and OpenAI bills your own account directly. Alibaba Wan video, which is the default a render reaches first, along with image generation and voice-overs, still runs on this deployment's accounts against your included credits, and text generation has no bring-your-own option at all. The Bring Your Own AI card on the Usage page says exactly that.
  • It will not undo a charge your own provider made. Where your key paid, the provider billed your account directly, and this deployment can neither see that charge nor reverse it.
  • It will not make a capability available by storing a key. Availability is still decided by what this deployment has configured, so a video key of yours does not switch on video that was never set up here.
  • It will not remove anybody on a downgrade. Seat and account caps apply when you add, never retroactively.
  • It will not configure a provider. Providers are configured by support staff at the platform level, and no customer role reaches that.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "Paid checkout isn't enabled in this environment yet - you can explore plans, but upgrading isn't available."
  • "Checkout is not yet available: Stripe is not configured for this environment." is the same fact from the API.
  • "Credit top-ups are not available yet: Stripe is not configured for this environment." and "Not available to buy yet." on an individual pack.
  • "Billing permission required." means your role carries neither bill nor administer.
  • "Could not start checkout. Nothing has been charged."
  • "Your plan does not include this." is the entitlement refusal, and it is worth reading next to "This needs a provider that has not been set up yet. Paying for a plan will not switch it on.", which is a different problem with a different answer.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Which plan do I need to publish?

Any paid plan. Live publishing is the one plan entitlement on the path from writing to publishing, and the free preview does not include it or any connected accounts.

Does a bigger plan generate better?

No. Generation quality depends on the provider configured in the deployment, not on your plan. A plan changes your allowances.
