Tracking a creator relationship

Moving a creator through seven recorded stages, what each stage actually means, and why there is no warmth, likelihood or forecast anywhere on the page.

A relationship records where you stand with one creator, in one workspace. Seven stages: prospect, contacted, negotiating, active, paused, ended and declined.

Every stage is a statement somebody here made. "Contacted" means somebody recorded making contact. It does not mean the creator replied. "Prospect" means somebody recorded them as a candidate and nobody has contacted them.

There is no warm or hot ladder, no likelihood, no days-in-stage urgency colour and no forecast, because nothing in this product measures any of them.

BEFORE YOU START

  • The "create" permission to open a relationship, and "edit" to move it or assign an owner.
  • Access to the workspace.
  • The creator recorded in this workspace.

STEPS

  1. Open Relationships for the workspace, or go to /app/workspaces/{workspace}/creator-hub/relationships.
  2. Choose a creator and record a relationship. It opens at the first stage.
  3. Read the stage meanings on the page. They are the definitions, not a description of a funnel.
  4. Move the relationship to a legal next stage. Only the stages you can actually reach from here are offered.
  5. Assign an owner, or clear the owner, so it is clear who is carrying it.
  6. Add a note when you move a stage. The history keeps who moved it, when, and what they said.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

The relationship at its new stage, and a history entry naming the person who moved it.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not move backwards through arbitrary stages. Each stage offers only its legal successors, and "declined" offers none. Either side said no, and that is final.
  • It will not open two relationships with the same creator. One open relationship per creator per workspace.
  • It will not infer a stage from time passing. Nothing moves on its own.
  • It will not score, rank or predict.
  • It will not contact anybody. Recording outreach is a separate thing, and it does not send either.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "That creator is not recorded in this workspace." means record the creator first.
  • "This workspace already has a relationship recorded with that creator."
  • "Relationship {id} is already at stage negotiating." and "A relationship at stage declined cannot move to active." are the two transition refusals.
  • "That owner must be an active member of this organisation."
  • "Supply either owner_public_id or owner_user_id, not both." and "Supply owner_public_id - explicitly null to clear the owner." are API-level shape refusals.
  • "create permission required." and "edit permission required." are the permission refusals.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What is the difference between paused and ended?

Paused is a relationship you expect to pick up. Ended is one you do not. Neither is final in the way declined is.

Can I see how long something has been in a stage?

The history records when each move happened, so you can work it out. The page does not colour anything by age, because it makes no claim about what an age means.
