Writing posts with AI

Generating a first draft from a brief, checking what it will cost first, and what the output is and is not.

AI drafting turns a short brief into post copy, grounded in your Business DNA, your Brand Brain and the platform you are writing for. What comes back is a first draft to edit, not a finished post to publish unread.

You can check what a generation will cost before you run it, and a generation that fails is not charged.

BEFORE YOU START

  • An AI text provider configured on this deployment. Without one, every step below except the generation itself still works and you write the draft by hand.
  • The "generate" permission. Without it you can still write and save drafts.
  • Credits. The estimate is shown before you run it if you ask for one.
  • A brand. A campaign belongs to a brand, so create one first if you have none.

STEPS

  1. Open Create, or go to /app/create, and pick a journey. "Create a post" is the plainest one.
  2. On the Compose step, write the brief in "What do you want to say?". Be specific: this is what the draft is generated from.
  3. Pick the "Format", the "Brand", a "Voice profile" and the "Language".
  4. Choose "Check cost first" to see the estimate against your balance. This calls no provider and charges nothing.
  5. Choose "Generate draft". The result fills the "Draft" box.
  6. Edit it. Check every fact, figure and claim yourself.
  7. Give it a title, choose the campaign to save it into, and choose "Save draft and continue".

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

An estimate reading something like "Estimated 3 credit(s) - you have 240", then a draft in the box. After saving, the item is a draft in your chosen campaign, ready for the full editor.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It does not check facts. Generated copy is not verified, and Brand Guard's claim checks run later, on the saved content, not on the text as it appears.
  • It does not silently rewrite output that breaks a writing rule. A prohibited word that slips through is recorded against the generation so you can see it.
  • It does not publish or schedule anything.
  • "Stop waiting" abandons the response only. The generation has already been sent and may still finish and be charged; there is no way to call it back.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "AI generation is not enabled in this environment yet." means no text provider is configured. That is a deployment setting an operator controls. Write the draft by hand; every other step works.
  • "Your role can't generate with AI" means you lack the "generate" permission. You can still write by hand.
  • "Not enough credits for this generation." means nothing was charged and your brief is exactly as you left it.
  • "You have reached the fair-use limit for now. Please try again shortly." is a rate limit, not a credit problem.
  • "The AI provider was unavailable. Please try again shortly." means the reservation was released and nothing was charged.
  • "Write a brief above first - that is what the draft is generated from." means the brief box is empty.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Does the estimate match what I am charged?

Not exactly. The estimate is what would be reserved; settlement follows the provider's actual usage and is never more than the estimate.

Where do my saved prompts come from?

The workspace prompt library. They appear in the content editor's assistant as a dropdown.

Does the draft use my brand voice?

It is grounded in your Business DNA and the brand's Brand Brain, and steered further by whichever writing profile you pick.
