Your creator account

Registering as a creator, why it creates no organisation, how one sign-in carries both roles at once, and what is outstanding before a profile can be submitted for review.

Social Studio has two sides. One is the business side, where an organisation records creators, runs campaigns and reads what it has been charged. The other is Creator Studio, where a person who makes content holds their own profile, their own prices and their own payout standing.

They are the same product and the same sign-in. Registering as a creator creates no organisation — not a personal one, not a hidden one — and joining an organisation does nothing to a creator profile. A person can be an agency employee and a registered creator at the same time, with one login, and neither role can see or change the other.

Your creator profile belongs to you rather than to any business. No organisation can edit it, and it stays yours if you leave one.

BEFORE YOU START

  • A public name. It does not have to be your legal name; it is the only name a business sees.
  • A confirmed email address on the account you sign in with.
  • Acceptance of the privacy policy and the terms of service. Both are recorded as dated consents you can withdraw later, not as a checkbox.
  • A confirmation that you are an adult.
  • At least one social account, before the profile can be submitted for review.

STEPS

  1. Sign in, then open Creator Studio, or go to /app/creator.
  2. Read the roles card. Both roles are listed whether or not you hold them, so you can always tell a role you have not activated from one you have been shut out of.
  3. Read the outstanding list. Every requirement is shown at once, so fixing one never reveals a second you were not told about.
  4. Use the links across the top for your passport, your services and rates, opportunities addressed to you, your offers, and your payout standing.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

Your roles, with the creator side marked active once you hold a profile. Below it, counts of the social accounts, rate cards and open offers this product actually holds for you, and a list of anything still outstanding before your profile can be submitted.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not score you. There is no profile-strength percentage, no completeness bar and no readiness rating anywhere on the page. Nothing measures one, and a number about a person that nobody computed from anything is worse than the plain list of outstanding items beside it.
  • It will not create an organisation for you, or add you to one.
  • It will not publish your profile. A moderator decides that, and until they do, no business can find you.
  • It will not register you from this page yet. The creator account interface that performs registration and profile editing is not published on the web, so the page says so rather than showing a button that would do nothing.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "Creator role not activated" means this account holds no creator profile. It is not a refusal — anybody may become a creator — and the requirements are listed beside it.
  • "Your email address is not confirmed" cannot be fixed here. Social Studio is not the authority for your sign-in and sends no confirmation mail; confirm the address with the identity provider you sign in through, and the requirement clears at your next sign-in.
  • Both roles showing as not activated means you hold neither a membership nor a creator profile. That is a normal state for a new account.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Does registering as a creator create an organisation?

No — not a personal one and not a hidden one. A creator profile belongs to a person, and it carries no workspace, no members and no billing. This is why a creator cannot be reached by an organisation's permissions and why joining a company later changes nothing about the profile.

Can one sign-in be both a creator and a member of a business?

Yes, and that is the intended arrangement. One login carries both roles at once, and neither can see or change the other. An agency employee can hold their own creator profile, with their own prices and payout standing, and their employer has no access to it.

Why can I not confirm my email address here?

Because Social Studio is not the authority for your sign-in and sends no confirmation mail. The address is confirmed with the identity provider you sign in through, and the requirement clears at your next sign-in. Showing a button here would be offering to do something this product cannot do.

If I leave a company, do I lose my creator profile?

No. The profile is yours rather than the organisation's: no business can edit it, and it stays with you when a membership ends. What you lose is the business side of that organisation, which is a separate role on the same account.
