What is proved about your accounts

Reading your Creator Passport: which social accounts have had ownership proved and by what method, which are only your own claim, and why a withheld field and a missing one are shown differently.

Your Creator Passport is a record of evidence. It is not a badge and it carries no score.

Adding a handle to your profile is a claim: you have said that an account is yours. Proving you control it is a separate act, done by a method the passport names. The two are never shown the same way, and there is no single tick anywhere on the page, because a tick would have to mean identity, account control and payment standing all at once, and those are different facts established by different evidence.

There is also no trust rating, authenticity figure or overall verification percentage. Nothing measures one. The evidence is listed and you draw the conclusion.

BEFORE YOU START

  • A creator profile on this account.
  • At least one social account added, or the accounts table will be empty.

STEPS

  1. Open Creator Passport, or go to /app/creator/passport.
  2. Read your profile standing. The status was set by a moderator, never by an automatic rule.
  3. Read the accounts table. The "Proved by" column names the method ownership was established by, or says the handle is your own claim.
  4. Open an account's card for the full sentence about what is and is not established about it.
  5. Read the consent table. "Granted" and "in effect" are separate columns for a reason.
  6. Read the withheld list, which names what a public viewer is told is being withheld from them.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

Each account with its ownership state, the method it was proved by if any, when it was last checked, and how many open contests it carries. Below that, every visibility consent with whether you granted it and whether it is currently in effect, and a list of the fields a public viewer is told are withheld.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not check ownership on a platform that does not permit it. On those platforms the state stays unverified and the page says so, rather than implying a check ran and failed.
  • It will not accept a screenshot as proof. A screenshot proves an image exists.
  • It will not treat "verified" with no method recorded as proved. That combination is a contradiction, and the page reports it as one.
  • It will not resolve a contested account. Somebody else claiming your handle is decided by a moderator, and your account is not removed while the contest is open.
  • It will not turn a withheld field into a blank. A business is told a field is withheld, because a profile that withholds its rates and a profile with no rates would otherwise look identical.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "This handle is your own claim" is the correct and expected state for an account nobody has proved. It is not an error.
  • A consent that is granted but not in effect is usually waiting on the consent it depends on. The "Depends on" column names which.
  • "An account is marked verified with no method recorded" means the stored record contradicts itself. That account is not treated as proved and the state it actually holds is shown instead.
  • "Somebody else has contested ownership" is a notice, not an action you must take. A moderator decides it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Why is there no single verified tick?

Because a tick would have to mean identity, account control and payment standing all at once, and those are different facts established by different evidence. The passport lists what was proved and by what method, and leaves the conclusion to you rather than compressing three answers into one symbol.

What is the difference between a claim and a proof?

Adding a handle says an account is yours. Proving you control it is a separate act, done by a method the passport names beside it. The two are never shown the same way, so "this handle is your own claim" is the correct state for an account nobody has checked — not an error and not a failure.

Why is my consent granted but not in effect?

Because it depends on another consent that has not been given. The "Depends on" column names which one. A consent that is granted but not yet in effect is shown as exactly that, rather than as simply off, so you can see the difference between a decision you have not made and one that is waiting on another.

An account says verified but names no method. What does that mean?

That the stored record contradicts itself, and the passport will not launder it into a badge. The account is not treated as proved, and the state it actually holds is shown instead. It is worth reporting, because a verified state with no method is a data defect rather than a stronger claim.
