Looking for creators you do not know

Why creator discovery is a screen with every control disabled, what the six creator-intelligence capabilities are, and what to do instead.

Creator discovery would find creators nobody here has recorded yet. It needs a provider that can search the open web or a platform, and there is none connected. Every control on the page is disabled, and each one says why.

This is worth stating plainly because the alternative would be worse. A search that quietly fell back to the creators you have already recorded would answer a question nobody asked. A search that returned an empty list would say we looked and found nobody. Neither is true, so the page refuses to search at all.

Six creator-intelligence capabilities are declared and none is available: finding creators you have not recorded, a single quality score for a creator, whether a creator's audience is genuine, how well a creator matches your brand, the age, geography and interest breakdown of their audience, and expected reach or engagement for a proposed collaboration.

BEFORE YOU START

  • The "view" permission and access to the workspace, which is all the page needs.
  • No provider to configure. There is nothing to switch on; this needs building rather than connecting.

STEPS

  1. Open Discovery, or go to /app/creator-hub/discovery.
  2. Read the description under the heading. It states that this needs a provider that can search, and that there is none connected.
  3. Read the block headed "No provider connected", which lists what would be required.
  4. Note the three fields and the Search button, all disabled, each explaining that this would search nowhere.
  5. Go to the creators page instead and record a creator you have found elsewhere.
  6. Record their handles and audience figures there, labelled with the source of each number.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SEE

A page that offers nothing to run. That is the accurate state of the capability, not a loading failure or a permissions problem.

WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO

  • It will not search anywhere, on any platform, by any term.
  • It will not fall back to your own directory.
  • It will not return an empty result. An empty result would claim a search ran.
  • It will not produce a score, an authenticity reading, a brand-fit reading, an audience breakdown or a performance forecast.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK

  • "Nothing is connected that can search for creators, so this would search nowhere." is the reason on every disabled control.
  • "Checking whether anything here can search for creators..." means the page is asking the server which capabilities exist. It will come back with none.
  • "We could not read which creator-intelligence capabilities are available, so nothing here is being offered. This is not the same as them being unavailable - we did not get an answer. Reload to try again." That distinction matters: it means the page does not know, rather than knowing there is nothing.
  • If you reach the discovery endpoint directly it refuses with: "Finding creators this organisation has not already recorded. No provider is configured for this, so no value is available - not a zero, not an estimate, and not an empty result."

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is this a plan feature I could upgrade to?

No. There is no provider configured on any plan, and paying more would not connect one.

What can I do meanwhile?

Find creators however you already do, and record them by hand. Everything downstream of the directory works: lists, relationships, outreach records and collaborations.
